# Captions, on the bite and in sync

Published: 2026-09-06 - Runtime: 0:44 - Area: Captions - Tags: Captions

Captions are generated automatically from the narration you already have on your bite, with no extra tools or manual syncing required. Each line is timed and listed in a Captions panel, so you can click any line to jump the preview to that moment, toggle captions on or off, and see them update automatically whenever you rewrite the narration.

Captions generate automatically from narration, staying synced even when the script changes.

## What changed

Captions now generate automatically from existing narration instead of requiring separate tools or manual syncing. A new Captions panel lists each line with its timing, lets you click to jump the preview, and displays captions as dark strips with white text readable on any background.

## Why it matters

You get accurate, synced captions without extra tools, manual timing work, or retyping when the script changes. This keeps captions always matching exactly what plays, saving time and reducing errors.

## Steps

1. Open the Captions panel to see each line with its timing
2. Click a line to jump the preview to that moment
3. Use the switch to toggle captions off or on in the preview
4. Rewrite the narration and let captions update automatically

## Questions

### Do I need to manually sync the captions?

No, captions are added straight from your existing narration with no manual syncing needed.

### What happens if I edit the narration?

Captions update automatically to match the rewritten narration, with nothing to retype yourself.

### Can I turn captions off?

Yes, one switch removes captions from the preview, and switching back restores them exactly as they were.

### How do captions look on the video?

They appear as a dark strip with white text, readable on any background at any size.
